Auto dealers lobby Washington on tax code
While your dealership is busy this Black Friday weekend, lobbyists on your behalf are reaching out to lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Recently, Congress kept a tax break alive in the tax reform bill. One that lets your dealership deduct the interest on vehicles in your lot. According to the NADA, as currently written, the Senate’s tax bill would limit the deductibility of business interest, including floor plan interest, to 30% of adjusted taxable income. As interest rates increase, this would result in dealers paying higher taxes even when a dealership does not show a profit. Watch Now
Index: Traffic to dealership websites on the rise
In a recent November Dealer Data View Index, which captured year-to-year data through October 31st, 2017, the index showed that after a relatively light post-summer dip, total traffic to dealership websites is once again ont he rise, growing by 3 percent in October from September. Vehicle detail page views, a strong indicator of sales intent, also rose by 2 percent last month. Read More
