Hyundai America
Chief of Sales Randy Parker named CEO of Hyundai America

In response to the ongoing chip scarcity, Hyundai Motors, the largest automaker in South Korea, announced Friday that it has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer for its US business. Effective today, Hyundai has named Randy Parker as CEO of Hyundai Motor America. According to a statement from the company, Parker will be in charge of Hyundai’s commercial automotive activities in the US market starting August 1, 2022.

The statement also stated that Randy Parker would report directly to José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. José Muñoz commented on the transition, “Randy is the perfect person to continue Hyundai’s recent successes in sales, market share, and growth in the US.”

Randy Parker is not new to leadership roles in Hyundai. In May 2019, Parker moved up to Vice President of National Sales at Hyundai Motor America and two years later was promoted to Senior Vice President.

Hyundai recently grew and became one of the fastest-growing vehicle brands in the world. Hyundai’s US sales increased by over 19% to 738,081 vehicles in 2021 compared to 622,269 units in 2020. In 2022, US sales did fall 16% to 343,867 vehicles from 407,135 in four months because of the massive chip shortage.
