Mercedes-Benz has announced a major shift in leadership in its North American operations. Effective July 1, Adam Chamberlain will take over as CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA). In addition, he will also serve as the Head of Marketing and Sales for Mercedes-Benz Cars North America.
Chamberlain brings over 30 years of global automotive experience, including roles at MBUSA, Aston Martin, and most recently as Executive Vice President and COO of Lithia & Driveway. At Lithia, he oversaw the operational performance of over 300 dealerships across the U.S., managing over $30 billion in revenue. From 2016 to 2021, he served at MBUSA as Vice President of Sales and Product Management, where he helped shape the brand’s retail and product strategy in the competitive U.S. market.
Chamberlain will be succeeding current MBUSA CEO Dimitris Psillakis, who will transition into a Senior Strategic Advisor role until the end of the year to ensure a seamless leadership transition. Throughout his 33-year career with Mercedes-Benz, Psillakis held several key roles. Since assuming the CEO role in 2020, he has led the company through critical supply chain challenges and played a key role in advancing the company’s digitalization and electrification efforts. Psillakis will continue to support strategic initiatives in his advisory capacity and work closely with the leadership team during this transitional period.
The leadership change reflects Mercedes-Benz’s continued focus on innovation, customer excellence, and long-term growth in the U.S. market.
