On February 15, Lucid implemented its second price reduction in two months for the Air sedan, now starting at an MRSP below $69,900.
With the release of its second all-electric model this year, Lucid aims to ensure that buyers don’t overlook the Air, its premium sedan. After launching its 2024 Air variants a few months ago and drastically cutting pricing, the EV startup has now dropped its MSRPs once more in an effort to entice potential buyers with extra charging and maintenance benefits.
After seeing a decline in year-over-year deliveries in its Q4 2023 report, the EV startup hopes to recover throughout the rest of the year.
Beyond Air, the company has revealed plans for a third mass-market EV aimed at Tesla Model 3 or Model Y buyers. The Gravity SUV can potentially compete in the all-electric SUV market later this year.
But for now, Lucid sells the Air, a reasonably new electric sedan whose pricing was drastically lowered when its 2024 variants were introduced. Still, many people find the premium EV with the greatest industry range to be pricey.
To entice prospective buyers, Lucid is focusing on two major EV buying pain points: pricing and ease of ownership. To achieve this, it has reduced the cost of three of its four Air trims, with the RWD Air Pure seeing a significant price cut.
| Air Trim | Pure | Touring (AWD) | Grand Touring (AWD) |
