Hyundai offers free level 2 home charger for 2025 Ioniq 5 N buyers

It’s important to note that while the charger itself is free, customers must cover the installation costs.

Hyundai is offering a free Level 2 home charger to buyers of the 2025 Ioniq 5 N, a high-performance electric vehicle (EV) that boasts up to 641 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 3.25 seconds. The Ioniq 5 N, priced at $67,495, is an all-wheel-drive crossover with an estimated range of 221 miles. Despite its impressive specs, the high price tag might be a tough sell for some, considering Hyundai’s reputation as a budget-friendly brand. To sweeten the deal, Hyundai is helping customers offset costs with this new charging promotion.

The free charger, valued at $549, is offered through ChargePoint, the largest EV charging network in the U.S. Buyers who prefer not to install a home charger can opt for a $450 credit toward ChargePoint’s network of public chargers instead. It’s important to note that while the charger itself is free, customers must cover the installation costs. Hyundai’s program gives new Ioniq 5 N buyers 90 days to redeem either the home charger or public charging credit after purchase or lease. Those who purchased the Ioniq 5 N before the program started are still eligible for the offer if they redeem by October 14, 2024, and complete the hardwired installation by January 12, 2025.

ChargePoint, which has over 35,000 locations across the U.S., predominantly offers Level 2 chargers—ideal for overnight home charging—with only about 3,000 DC fast charging ports for quicker stops. A Level 2 charger connects to a 240-volt power source and typically provides a maximum of 11 kilowatts, enough to fully charge an EV over several hours.

This initiative underscores Hyundai’s effort to make its high-performance EVs more accessible while addressing the common concern of charging infrastructure. As the Ioniq 5 N positions itself as a competitive performance EV, Hyundai hopes this promotion will attract more customers into the electric vehicle market despite lingering concerns about cost and convenience.
