Jim Fitzpatrick recently spent time with Dave Druzynski, Chief People Officer at Automate, where they spoke about how Auto/Mate is no longer merging with CDK Global. As this news brought a lot of joy to the dealer community, it has also lit a powerful spark within the Auto/Mate team and Druzynski Tells CBT News how they are ready to move forward and focus on building services your dealership can relate to.
In early March it was announced Auto/Mate and CDK Global will not be moving forward with a merge that would combine both companies. Druzynski explains to Jim that this caused an excited reaction from dealerships across the nation.
Bruce Hoffman, Acting Director of the Bureau of Competition — called the move by CDK Global and Auto/Mate “good news” for U.S. franchised dealers. He went on to say, “Dealerships will continue to benefit from the disruptive and innovative efforts of Auto/Mate, resulting in improvements to DMS offerings across the industry,”
This outcome came after an eight-month long investigation that took time to talk with over 100 dealers in the automotive retail industry. “They felt that we were an innovator and disruptor and it would have a negative impact on the market if they took us out.” Druzynski shares as he is still filled with excitement from this decision.
When we ask Druzynski what is next for the Auto/Mate team we learned how they are ready to elevate themselves to the next level. He shares how they have been spending time looking into different products they can add that will enhance their user’s experience. They are also putting a focus on the integrations and building out their network. They understand that their core is DMS and they will continue to grow those strengths and is looking forward to where that will lead them in the future as well.
