GM celebrates veterans with $1,000 incentive on EVs for Veterans Day

With this initiative, GM honors veterans and strengthens its position in the growing electric vehicle market.

In honor of Veterans Day, General Motors (GM) is launching a new incentive to encourage military personnel to transition to electric vehicles. Throughout November 2024, veterans can take advantage of a $1,000 discount on select electric models from GM’s Chevy, Cadillac, and GMC brands. This initiative underscores GM’s commitment to supporting those who have served while promoting its expanding lineup of electric vehicles.

The $1,000 military appreciation offer applies to various electric models, including the 2023, 2024, and 2025 GMC Hummer EV, Cadillac Lyriq, Chevy Blazer EV, Chevy Equinox EV, Chevy Silverado EV, and GMC Sierra EV. To participate, veterans can visit GM’s Military Appreciation page to select their desired vehicle and receive an authorization number to present at any GM dealership.

The program is open to Active Duty, Reservists, National Guard members, and retirees from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. To validate military status, participants will need to register through ID.me, ensuring a streamlined process for eligible individuals.

GM boasts that it offers “the most inclusive military offer from any car company,” reflecting its dedication to those who serve. This announcement comes on the heels of GM’s remarkable sales achievements, having sold a record 32,000 electric vehicles in the last quarter alone. This surge has positioned GM as the second-largest seller of electric vehicles in the United States, surpassing Ford.

In addition to honoring veterans, GM announced that its cumulative electric vehicle sales in the U.S. surpassed 300,000 units last month, marking a significant milestone since the company began offering EVs in 2016. The impressive sales performance is attributed to introducing key new models, including the more affordable 2025 Chevy Equinox EV and Silverado EV LT, which are now hitting the market.

For those who may not qualify for military incentives, GM continues to provide some of the most competitively priced electric vehicles available today. Interested buyers can explore deals on GM’s all-electric models at local dealerships, including the Chevy Blazer EV, Chevy Equinox EV, Chevy Silverado EV, Cadillac Lyriq, GMC Hummer EV, and GMC Sierra EV.

With this initiative, GM honors veterans and strengthens its position in the growing electric vehicle market, paving the way for an even brighter future in sustainable transportation.
