In a significant move to boost electric vehicle (EV) sales, Ford has reintroduced a $1,500 United Auto Workers (UAW) discount for its 2025 models, including the F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E. This initiative comes after the company reached new labor contract agreements with the UAW last December.
The UAW Member Offer, which initially provided a $1,500 voucher for UAW members purchasing new Ford vehicles, is now being extended to all buyers. According to a dealer note viewed by CarsDirect, Ford announced on July 30, 2024, that this discount will apply to most 2025 models as they begin hitting dealerships. The offer, available nationwide until December 31, 2025, can be combined with other incentives, enhancing its appeal.
This reintroduction coincides with Ford’s Summer Sales Event, which began on July 9, 2024. The event offers substantial savings, including 0% APR financing and up to $9,500 rebates on select models. With these combined offers, the 2024 F-150 Lightning can now be leased for just $1 more than the Maverick, and the Mustang Mach-E has become more affordable to lease than the gas-powered Chevy Camaro.
The UAW discount extension follows a notable rise in Ford’s US EV sales, which increased by 31% in July. Specifically, the F-150 Lightning saw an 82% year-over-year sales boost with 2,822 units sold, while the Mustang Mach-E experienced a 16% increase with 4,592 units sold. Despite this growth in EV sales, Ford’s overall vehicle sales remained flat due to sluggish SUV sales.
The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning offers several trims with varying ranges and starting prices:
- XLT: $62,995 (240 miles)
- Flash: $67,995 (320 miles)
- Lariat: $76,995 (320 miles)
- Platinum: $84,995 (300 miles)
- Platinum Black: $92,995 (300 miles)
These prices do not include the $2,095 destination fee.
For those ready to take advantage of Ford’s new savings offers, the UAW discount and summer sales incentives provide an excellent opportunity to explore and purchase Ford’s latest EV models.
