Joe Gumm sits down with Cox Auto Chief Economist Jonathan Smoke to discuss the fourth-quarter 2017 Cox Automotive Dealer Sentiment Index. This is a new product from Cox Automotive, who issues the survey to a sample of franchises and independent auto dealers around the country, who express how they feel about the current retail auto sales and sales expectations for the next three months as “strong,” “average” or “weak”. Survey: The car brands consumers love and hate, and why
Sometimes, your dealership team can do everything right when it comes to the brand it sells. To track how customers feel after they drive off the lot, you can gauge retention rates and rely on referrals and online review. Then, there’s the Consumer Reports Reliability Survey that ranks automakers on quality and dependability. Consumer Reports’ annual Owner-Satisfaction survey rates brands based on how they performed against car buyers’ expectations. They received feedback on comfort, value, styling, climate systems, driving experience, and audio. Taking the two top spots this year: Tesla and Porsche. Volvo exec survives whirlwind meetings with 300 dealers
Volvo’s North American CEO, Anders Gustafsson, recently did something with his 300 U.S. dealers that a lot of CEOs would never do. He actually met with them in regional meetings, stood in the middle of a circle, answered questions, and tried to quell some concerns according to WardsAuto. Gustafsson said, “If we don’t have trust from dealers, they’ll absolutely not support us. We need solutions that work for everyone.” Read More
