Auto dealers are often recognized for their commitment to corporate social responsibility and giving back to their local communities. Capitaland Subaru, in Glenville, New York, recently made a record-breaking donation of $68,000 to the Animal Protective Foundation (APF), a non-profit animal shelter serving the local area. Subaru of America‘s Share the Love event made this substantial contribution possible, with $400 donated for every vehicle sold during the campaign.
Dealer principals Regina Grego and Al Rulu have supported the Animal Protective Foundation in Glenville for an astounding 25 years. Since 2016, Subaru of America’s subsidiary has further strengthened the dealership’s charitable initiatives.
When discussing the donation to The Daily Gazette, Grego said, “We had a very successful event this year, and are very pleased to support the Animal Protective Foundation, and thank them for all the good work that they do for the pets in our community.”
Joe Lisella, the executive director of the APF, expressed his appreciation, highlighting Capitaland Subaru’s significant role as the organization’s largest corporate sponsor. Lisella noted that this donation marks a nearly 50% increase compared to their previous contributions.
“This is not a simple ‘sale-a-thon’ that is based on cars sold equals ‘x’ dollars,” Lisella told reporters. “This is an active effort on the part of Capitaland’s owners, managers, salespeople, staff, and most important, Capitaland’s customers.
Over the years, Capitaland Subaru has generously donated more than $300,000 to support the Animal Protective Foundation, a testament to their enduring commitment to the welfare and well-being of animals in the community, according to Lisella.
Capitaland Subaru’s generosity demonstrates the automotive industry’s philanthropic spirit and highlights the importance of supporting local non-profit organizations.
