SpinCar, the global leader in digital automotive merchandising software and data, announced today that it has acquired Pulsar AI, creator of the auto industry’s most advanced conversational AI platform. On today’s show, Steve Greenfield, CEO of Automotive Ventures and host of the original CBT News show The Friday 5, sits down with Devin Daly, Co-Founder and CEO of SpinCar to discuss this deal.
By combining Pulsar’s automated communication technology with SpinCar’s industry-leading digital merchandising offering, the company will expand its solution set to drive greater levels of online shopper engagement and lead conversion for auto retailers.Â
The acquisition will enable SpinCar to extend its shopper data and digital content assets into additional dealer communication channels and customer touchpoints. Pulsar’s AI technology will be integrated into the SpinCar platform and Pulsar’s 30 employees will become part of SpinCar’s expanded global Product, Operations, and R&D organization.
Pulsar’s AI technology leverages natural language processing to automate the more tedious components of running a BDC. Every lead that is submitted is intelligently responded to within a minute from the AI. That includes overnight lead submission. The system also automatically follows up with leads that have been dormant for up to 51 days. This also allows BDC employees to focus their energy on hot, recent, engaged leads.
Daly believes that AI will play a critical role in enabling eCommerce for the automotive sector. Most dealers have just put a checkout widget on their website without considering merchandising or how customers can get their questions answered. AI technology, leads consumers down the sales pipeline to then be handed off to the digital retailing solution.
