In yet another story of dealers helping their communities, the focus turns to Bill Jacobs BMW of the Bill Jacobs Auto Group in Illinois. In Mid-May, Bill Jacobs BMW joined with the regional BMW marketing team to hand out hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes to organizations in their community that need it.
Supplies for Ronald McDonald House
One of the deliveries made by the Bill Jacobs team was to their local Ronald McDonald House in Winfield, Illinois. The delivery included 15 cases of hand sanitizer and eight cases of sanitizing wipes. Ronald McDonald House provides temporary housing for families of sick kids who are being treated in nearby Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, and keeping the facility and occupants sanitary is a critical job.
In March, Ronald McDonald House decided to suspend food service programs, activity programs, and more that were generously aided by volunteers. Families were still able to use the facility for housing at the Winfield location while other RMH locations temporarily closed and moved families to nearby facilities.
With a shortage of cleaning supplies and PPE nationwide, Bill Jacobs BMW participated in an initiative that brought the hand sanitizer and wipes to Ronald McDonald House when it was critically needed. The donation helps keep families together while children are being treated nearby.
Hand Sanitizer for the Fire Department
At the same time, the team from Bill Jacobs BMW delivered 15 cases of hand sanitizer to the Naperville Fire Department. A city of over 140,000 residents and covering more than 52 square miles, the nearly 200-strong force found itself in need of hand sanitizer across the whole organization.
As frontline workers in an obviously essential service, being well-stocked on masks, cleaning supplies, and hand sanitizer is a crucial task. The donation from Bill Jacobs Auto Group provided enough hand sanitizer to stock each of the Naperville FD’s 10 stations and every vehicle in the fire department fleet.
The fire department thanked the BMW dealer for their contribution, saying, “Thank you so much for the donation of the sanitizer. This will be enough to cover every station and vehicle in the Fire Department. It is really appreciated. Bill Jacobs Motorsport has really gone above and beyond to help get us through this pandemic.”
A ‘Thank You’ for the Community
The effort to supply hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies to local organizations is, for the Bill Jacobs organization, a small way to thank front-line and essential workers for their service during a trying and exhausting time.
Bill Jacobs BMW’s Marketing Manager Leigh Martino recounts, “it was heartwarming to see the smiles of the individuals from the house who took in the donation.”
In this initiative,BMW dealers in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana made deliveries to more than 30 local organizations including food pantries, shelters, first responders, hospitals, and retirement communities. Over 10,000 pounds of hand sanitizer and disinfectant products provided by a local chemical supply company named Siebert Inc.
CBT News continues to applaud dealers who are making a difference in their communities. Well done!
