General Motors (GM) continues to make strides in its mission to provide a seamless and practical EV experience for drivers across America.
As part of its robust collaboration with EVgo, a leader in EV charging infrastructure, GM has now surpassed 2,000 co-branded public fast charging stalls, establishing itself as one of the nation’s largest providers of fast charging solutions.
The 2,000th charging stall is at a new EVgo station in Murrieta, California, off Interstate 215 in Riverside County. This station features five 350kW fast chargers capable of simultaneously serving up to 10 vehicles, allowing drivers to quickly recharge while enjoying nearby retail stores, coffee shops, and dining options.
This partnership has resulted in installing fast charging stalls at more than 390 locations in 45 metropolitan markets across 32 states. Their strategic placement in grocery stores, retail complexes, and city centers ensures EV owners—especially renters and those living in multifamily housing—can access convenient charging options near everyday amenities.
In addition, the companies are now working toward a goal of 2,850 DC fast charging stalls across the U.S., with plans to include 400 flagship public charging stalls at key destinations across major metropolitan markets.
States like Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York, and Texas are set to benefit from this ambitious expansion.
Since August 2023, GM and EVgo celebrated opening their 1,000th fast charging stall in Woodbridge, Illinois. Since then, they’ve doubled their shared charging footprint, significantly boosting the availability of fast chargers across the U.S., including at highway rest stops on major interstates. Together with GM’s home charging solutions, these public charging stations offer drivers the confidence to travel coast to coast in a GM EV.
