Nissan launches nationwide EV charging network for Ariya owners

In addition to the new charging network, Nissan is set to introduce Tesla Supercharger-compatible NACS adapters for Ariya later this year.

Nissan is rolling out its new “Nissan Energy Charge Network,” which will provide Ariya SUV owners with access to over 90,000 fast chargers across the U.S. through partner companies such as Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo.

Starting in November, Ariya owners can use the MyNissan app to connect and pay at participating third-party charging stations with a single tap, simplifying the EV charging experience.

In addition to the new charging network, Nissan is set to introduce Tesla Supercharger-compatible NACS adapters for Ariya later this year. While other automakers like Ford and Rivian offer the adapter for free, it remains unclear whether Nissan will follow suit or charge for it.

Looking ahead, Nissan plans to launch electric vehicles with native NACS ports in the U.S. and Canada by 2025, further expanding compatibility with the widespread charging infrastructure.

However, the new charging network and NACS adapter compatibility exclude the Nissan Leaf, which continues to rely on the outdated CHAdeMO fast-charging port and NissanConnect EV app. Although the Leaf’s role in the market is waning, it remains a milestone vehicle that established Nissan as a pioneer in the electric vehicle sector.

Moving forward, the automaker aims to launch 16 new electrified models by the end of fiscal year 2026, reflecting Nissan’s ongoing commitment to the EV space.
