Virginia-based Sheehy Auto Stores has raised $341,476 in 2023 to support the American Heart Association (AHA), continuing its long-term commitment to fight heart disease and improve health.
The dealership group began its partnership with the AHA in 2014, launching the “Sheehy Has Heart” campaign to raise money and awareness. Since then, the company has donated $2,649,150 to the organization and supported its efforts to engage with American citizens. In addition to fundraising, Sheehy Auto Stores sponsored the AHA’s #MoveMoreDC initiative, encouraging communities to participate in National Walking Day. The brand has also increased employee participation in heart-focused activities, including exercise and CPR education. According to a company press release, team members logged 853,344 steps as part of the Sheehy Pedometer Challenge, enough to take a round-trip hike from the Washington Monument to Times Square in New York City.
“For more than a decade, our collaboration with the American Heart Association has given us the opportunity to support a worthy cause while reinforcing the importance of maintaining heart health,” stated Vince Sheehy, president of Sheehy Auto Stores. “The American Heart Association plays a vital role in fostering cardiovascular well-being and resilience among the communities we serve.”
Sheehy Auto Stores’ long-standing commitment to heart health is an excellent reminder of the role the U.S. automotive industry plays in supporting the well-being of American citizens. As the owners of lucrative businesses with highly engaged local audiences, dealers have immense power to positively impact the lives of those in their communities. Partnering with large and highly visible organizations like the AHA can help retailers reach an even greater number of people, sometimes on a nationwide scale. But whether they work for a group or own an independent storefront, dealers of any size have the ability to help those in need and raise awareness on critical issues.
