Harrisonburg, Virginia-born Jake Sodikoff’s involvement in the automotive industry started early, as he began washing cars at his family’s Toyota dealership when he was 11 years old and was changing oil and rotating tires by the time he was 14 years old. He took up selling cars at age 15 and recalls obtaining his sales license before he even had a driver’s license. He continued to sell cars throughout high school and his college studies at the University of Arizona before moving into higher roles within Kia, Toyota, and Nissan dealerships.

While he has had an impressive level of career success to date, Sodikoff says, “My most proud achievement is purchasing my first dealership, becoming a Dealer Principal at the age of 29, and celebrating our 5-year anniversary in April of 2023.” Under Sodikoff’s leadership, Steven Nissan achieved the distinction of being the #1 used car dealer in their market and one of the top 20 used car dealers in Virginia in 2022.

In 2021, Sodikoff also founded HoneyCar, a used car franchise that rapidly expanded to 33 employees and sold 920 units in 2022. In 2023, HoneyCar made a significant acquisition, adding three new locations and bringing the total employee count to 112. The company now operates in two states and projects over $100 million in revenue for 2023.

Sodikoff calls himself “an avid cook,” as he attended culinary school following college, and says he cherishes spending time with his wife and two children. This includes traveling, hiking, and maintaining an active lifestyle, such as when he completed an Ironman triathlon in 2021. His favorite quote, “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity,” drives him to strive towards his ultimate goal for the future, which he says is “to become a mega-dealer with 30 rooftops that has $1 billion in revenue.”
