Stellantis appoints Natalie Knight as its new chief financial officer

Knight has the experience and a track record of leading business transformation initiatives with a clear ESG focus.

At the end of June, Richard Palmer, who served as Stellantis‘ chief financial officer when the company was known as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, will be departing his position.

On April 19, the company, which owns the Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, Dodge, and Fiat brands, revealed Palmers’ replacement will be Natalie Knight. Knight is the current chief financial officer of global food retailer Ahold Delhaize. She will be stationed in Auburn Hills, the location of Stellantis’ American headquarters.

Carlos Tavares, Stellantis’s CEO, expressed his excitement at Knight’s hiring:
“She has experience in a variety of businesses in both the U.S. and Europe. She is exactly the right leader to continue accelerating Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategy.”

He continues, “She has the experience and a track record of leading business transformation initiatives with a clear ESG focus. In my opinion, she will undoubtedly play a crucial strategic role in providing the fresh impulse and releasing the full potential of Stellantis’ value.”

Tavares reportedly recognized Palmer for his efforts. Stating “Palmer will continue working until June 30 to ensure a smooth transition, after a distinguished 20-year career with the company. He is  the most important executive at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles that most people outside of the company and Wall Street never see.”

On the other hand, Knight, a University of Arizona and Berlin’s Freie Universitat alum, will start in her new position on July 10. Throughout her career, she has held a variety of positions:

  • Natalie Knight held many senior finance positions throughout her 17 years at Adidas AG in Germany and the U.S. before joining Ahold Delhaize in early 2020. Previously, she served in investor relations roles at BASF and Bankgesellschaft Berlin.
