Lucid Motors has officially launched its newest luxury electric vehicle, the Air Touring, and the company says the Air Pure will follow later this year.
The EV maker shared details of its newest Air variations via a press release and live stream event called “In the Air and Beyond,” which the company promises will allow the public a look at all versions of the Air in one room.
Lucid Group CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson said the Air Touring “matches the landmark 4.6 miles per kWh efficiency of the Grand Touring – albeit at a more affordable price point,” and it was “an important incremental step to making ultra-efficient EVs more attainable.”
The Air Touring features a dual-motor setup and All-wheel drive that delivers 620 horsepower and 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds. It has an 18-module long-range battery pack with an EPA estimated range of 435 miles. The EV comes standard with a solid aluminum roof that can be upgraded to a full glass canopy, similar to its predecessors.
The Air Pure will come in two configurations, starting with the dual-motor AWD option that will begin production next month. A single-motor RWD configuration is scheduled for next year. The Air Pure will deliver 480 horsepower and do 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. It has a battery pack with an EPA estimated range of 410 miles.
Lucid says the first customer delivery of the Air Touring has been completed, and Air Pure deliveries will begin before the end of the year.
