Ford Motor Company announced it will increase the starting price on the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover. The increase will range from roughly $3,000 and $8,000 depending on the trim package. Shipping charges also increased from $200 to $1,300. Rising material costs and supply chain issues have led to the decision.

Earlier this year, Ford announced price increases on its F-150 Lightning. The company has sold 22,645 Mach-Es through July of this year, an increase of 43% over the same period last year.

The California Route 1 all-wheel-drive extended range will see the largest jump, from $56,575 to $64,875 including shipping. The vehicle will now only be offered as all-wheel drive. The increase makes the Select RWD the company’s lowest-priced offering, coming in at $48,195 including shipping. Premium RWD and AWD standard range models increased by $5,875, and the GT AWD extended range model increased by $7,900 to $71,195 including shipping.

The company says the price increases will go into effect starting on Tuesday when order banks reopen. Buyers with existing, unscheduled 2022 model-year orders will receive a “private offer” to switch to a 2023 model-year vehicle.

Ford also announced upgrades to the Mach-E, including a battery range boost to 13 miles on Premium models and 290 miles on vehicles with AWD configuration. The company also plans to make its entire suite of driver assist technology standard for all models. Select trim models will also have access to a free 90-day trial of its BlueCruise hands-free driving technology.
