With the 2021 NADA virtual show just around the corner, CBT News anchor Jim Fitzpatrick catches up with Byron McDuffee, Chief Operations Officer of DealerSocket, and Alok Tyagi, Chief Product and Technology Officer at DealerSocket. Right before last year’s NADA show, DealerSocket made headlines with its acquisition of AutoMate. Now auto dealers are wondering what to expect from DealerSocket for this year’s show.
McDuffee begins the conversation by sharing the company’s approach to the 2021 NADA virtual experience. He says that DealerSocket is coming to market as a complete, holistic solutions provider for automotive retailers, specifically for franchise dealers. Since its acquisition on AutoMate, DealerSocket has been able to provide dealers with the best overarching solution in the market. From data mining and inventory management to marketing and digital retailing, DealerSocket can fully service any dealer.
Tyagi then provides insight into how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the company. He says the positive takeaway is that productivity measures have grown since the start of the pandemic. The company was able to perform what Tyagi calls, “business agility” to meet the needs of dealers with solutions like remote E-Sign and remote E-deal so that dealers could continue to close deals. Tyagi says that the company worked hard to listen to the problems dealers were facing in 2019, create products that meet those challenges, and deliver industry-leading solutions in 2020.
McDuffee concludes the conversation by addressing how DealerSocket has moved from a luxury to a necessity for dealers. The pandemic accelerated the digital experience in the automotive retail space, and now dealers are looking to streamline their capabilities.
