There has been a battle brewing for the past couple of weeks in Colorado between EV startup Rivian and the state’s franchise dealers. Legislators from both parties proposed an amendment that would allow automakers to sell electric vehicles directly to consumers. The 2020 New York International Auto Show is April 10th to 19th in the Big Apple, one of the most prolific auto shows in the world. Hundreds of cars are shown off by some of the biggest names in luxury and elite vehicles, not to mention new models that showcase novel technology and design. Do members of Gen Z want a car? According to a new vehicle ownership study by MaritzCX, the answer is yes. This segment of the population that’s currently up to 25 years of age may be slightly less likely to want to own a car than Xennials and Millennials, but the dream of vehicle ownership is still in mind.
