Taylor Berndt has made significant strides in the automotive industry over the past seven years, beginning his journey as a Northwood University intern. Berndt’s ascent from intern to a vital member of his dealership’s leadership team showcases his dedication and adaptability, especially during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

When the team was reduced from 50 to just 15 employees, Berndt stepped up to take on multiple roles, including finance and sales, demonstrating his commitment to the team and the dealership’s success. Currently, he is completing his degree in automotive marketing and management, which will further enhance his expertise in the field.

Growing up in a small Wisconsin town, Berndt’s passion for cars was ignited by his grandmother’s impressive collection, which included brands like Jaguars and Porsches. After being recommended to Northwood University, he fell in love with the automotive marketing program and secured an internship at a local dealership, where he quickly became an integral part of the team.

Under his leadership, the dealership has implemented new systems and processes that have propelled it toward its 50th anniversary, highlighting Berndt’s commitment to innovation and growth in a traditional industry.

Looking ahead, Berndt aims to become a dealer or part-owner of a dealership by the age of 30, drawing on his extensive experience as a proven store manager. He has embraced the electric vehicle revolution, working closely with manufacturers to ensure his dealership remains competitive and well-stocked. With a focus on creating strong processes and maintaining a hospitality-driven approach to customer service, Berndt has led his store to impressive ratings, including a 4.9-star rating on Carfax and a 4.6 on Google. His proactive approach to marketing, including engaging with customers through social media platforms, exemplifies his forward-thinking mindset and dedication to the automotive industry.
