Nick Anderson, General Manager of Chuck Anderson Ford, has been recognized as one of CBT News’ 40 Under 40 honorees, a distinction celebrating young professionals shaping the future of retail automotive.
A third-generation dealer, Anderson oversees all aspects of the single-point Ford store, managing a team of 40 employees and leading operations across marketing, vehicle acquisitions, pricing, and fixed operations. “I eat, sleep, and breathe the auto industry,” Anderson said, noting his full-time experience in the business spans 13 years, with roots in the family dealership dating back to his childhood.
Anderson has driven notable improvements in fixed operations, increasing service revenue by 27% and expanding service capacity by 28%. By repurposing 6,000 square feet of underutilized shop space and enhancing the Quick Lane department, the dealership now handles approximately 30% more repair orders per month. While mobile service was considered, Anderson opted for a pickup-and-delivery system to efficiently serve the rural customer base.
The dealership has also adapted to changing market conditions, including the fluctuating EV landscape. Anderson notes that while EV sales have been limited, the dealership continues to meet customer demand and leverage incentives, particularly for budget-conscious buyers seeking vehicles like the Ford Mach-E.
Beyond his dealership, Anderson is actively involved in the industry, serving as chairman-elect of the Missouri Automobile Dealers Association and leading the association’s Next-Generation Dealer Program.
Looking ahead, Anderson plans to expand the family business, aiming to own three to four dealerships within the next five years. He cites automotive leader Ben Keating as a role model for scaling operations while maintaining a focus on mentorship and operational excellence. Anderson also hopes to involve his children in the business as they come of age, ensuring the next generation carries forward the family legacy.
