VinFast expands its network by adding 12 new U.S. car dealerships

The company is currently operating 15 stores and service centers in California.

Vietnamese automaker VinFast announced on April 23 that it has formally signed contracts with a dozen new U.S. car dealerships.

The 12 new car dealers partnered with VinFast will start doing business this month. This will raise the overall number of VinFast dealerships in the United States to 18, spread across seven states: Connecticut, Kentucky, North Carolina, New York, Texas, Florida, and Kansas.

Currently, the EV startup announced in Q4 2023 that it would construct dealership networks domestically and internationally to shift from its direct-to-consumer distribution model to a “capital-light hybrid model.” The company is currently operating 15 stores and service centers in California. VinFast hopes to increase sales through dealers in the second half of 2024.

According to David Duncan, the vice president of sales and marketing at VinFast North America, “Leveraging the network of stores, market experience, and capabilities of leading U.S. dealers, VinFast will quickly deliver high-quality, competitively priced EVs to consumers, along with outstanding after-sales policies.” This marks the beginning of VinFast’s rapid expansion into the US market.

Moreover, the company’s after-sales policy is vigorous, offering a 10-year per 125,000-mile warranty for the car and a 10-year unlimited mileage warranty for the battery under standard use. To support its U.S. dealerships, VinFast has established a parts distribution center. The dealerships will initially sell the VF 8 model, followed by the VF 9 and VF 7 as they launch in the U.S.
